CultLab3D at the Hannover Messe HMI
The scanning pipeline CultLab3D, developed by the department for Cultural Heritage Digitization at Fraunhofer IGD, will be exhibited from 25th to 29th April at the Hannover Messe HMI, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. It will be shown at the exhibition stand of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (Hall 2, Stand C28).

DIGITALISIERUNG Kunst– Museen – Markt – bleibt alles anders?
Am 26. November 2015 veranstaltet das Frankfurter Allgemeine Forum die diesjährige Kunstkonferenz. Sie wird sich dem Thema Digitalisierung widmen und die damit verbundenen Perspektiven und Herausforderungen für Künstler, Museen und den Kunsthandel in den Blick nehmen. Auch andere kulturelle Bereiche finden im Rahmen der Veranstaltung Berücksichtigung.
Die Konferenz findet im Cafe Moskau, Karl-Marx-Allee 34 in Berlin statt.

3D digitization of Rongorongo tablets
The possibilities of 3D digitization for ethnological research questions will be presented by Pedro Santos, Head of the Competence Center for Cultural Heritage Digitization at Fraunhofer Institute IGD, at the 9th International Conference on Easter Island and the Pacific (EIPC 2015). The conference will take place at the Ethnological Museum Dahlem, Berlin, from 21-26 June 2015.
Presentation on CultLab3D at the Digital Heritage: 3D representation
A presentation on CultLab3D and 3D digitization will be given at the "Digital Heritage: 3D representation" conference, taking place at the new Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus, Denmark, from 21-22 May 2015. The organizing Centre for Digital Heritage was established in 2012 to provide a focus for researchers from across the University of York with an interest in all fields of Digital Heritage, including data management, analysis and visualization. In 2013 the Centre received funding to develop a collaborative international research center with partners in Aarhus, Leiden and Uppsala. In this time the center has moved from strength to strength and has recently welcomed Lund University to its network. The aim is to undertake collaborative international research in the field of Digital Heritage, including the application of Information and Communication Technologies to the understanding and presentation of heritage.
Presentation on CultLab3D at the “2+3D Photography–Practice and Prophecies conference”
Pedro Santos, Head of the Competence Center for Cultural Heritage Digitization at the Fraunhofer Institute IGD, will give a presentation on Cultlab3D at the “2+3D Photography–Practice and Prophecies” conference at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, on 15–16 April 2015.

The 3D scanning system CultLab3D of Fraunhofer IGD will be tested at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin next week. This should explore the opportunities and challenges to digitalize natural and cultural goods quickly and efficiently. All interested parties are welcome at the panel discussion on 11 November 2014 and to visit the scanning system from 11 to 14 November 2014.
CultLab3D scan planets for children's film project
Mit ihrer weltweit einmaligen 3D-Scanstraße CultLab3D scannt das Fraunhofer IGD sonst nur Kulturartefakte. Für ein Filmprojekt der Christoph-Graupner-Schule in Darmstadt scannten die Forscher erstmals auch Modelle von Planeten und Raumfahrzeugen. Das Ergebnis war auf der Filmpremiere am 13. Oktober in der Centralstation Darmstadt zu sehen.

Invitation and program for EVA Berlin Conference 2014
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research has dedicated the year 2014 to the Digital Societies. The inaugural event was held February 19th. at the Berlin Museum for Communication under the auspices of the Federal Minister for Education and Research Prof. Wanka and assembled stakeholders from Industry, Politics and Economy. Fraunhofer IGD was prominently present with a live demonstration of CultLab3D.
CultLab3D at the Digital Heritage 2013
The first prototype of the CultLab3D digitization pipeline for small and medium-sized cultural heritage artifacts will be shown live at the Digital Heritage 2013 conference in Marseille, France from October 28th to November 01st, 2013.
